Julia Sherrill Queen, 65, of Annie Bird Loop, Cherokee, died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2005, at her residence after an extended illness.

A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Andy and Annie Bird Sherrill. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Tom Queen Sr., who died in 2000, brothers, David Bird, Lee Andy Bird and John Ute Sherrill, son, Jeese Queen, and daughter, Henrietta Queen.

Surviving are six daughters, Mary Sherrill and husband, Alan, Rebecca Queen, Kina Queen, Tammy Queen and husband, Tony, Lena Sequoyah and Johnnie Queen, all of Cherokee, two sons, Tom Queen Jr. and Jasper Queen and wife, Christine, both of Cherokee, four sisters, Margaret Lossiah, Jessie Wildcat and husband, Quincy, and Rita Wildcat, all of Cherokee, and Grace Tahbonemah of Mesquite, Texas, several nieces and nephews, 22 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cherokee Pentecostal Church with the Revs. Don Ensley and Bo Parris officiating. Burial will be in Washington Family Cemetery on Jenkins Creek.
