Ervin Boyd "EB" Ackerman, 74, husband of Gloria D. Ackerman, died Friday morning, November 7, 2014, at his residence.

Mr. Ackerman was born October 21, 1940, in Williamsburg County, a son of Ervin Watson Ackerman and Myrtle Lucille Martin Ackerman.

He was a member of The Christian Fortress. He enjoyed singing and was a member of the Little Red Barn Singers. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

EB and Gloria were married October 31, 1978, and celebrated 36 years together.

Children: Jerry Lynn Kellis, Ronald C. (Martha) Helton, Dana A. (Tonya) Helton, Shawn (Ted) Woodell; five grandchildren: Jessica Floyd, Dana (Tidus) May, Danny Helton, Ken Morris, and Hannah Helton; and three great-grandchildren: Anna May, Lawton May, and Madlynn Floyd.

He also was survived by a brother, Joe H. (Debbie) Ackerman; three sisters, Argerine A. (George) Blakely, Delloris A. Hill, Diane A. (Dennis) Mills; and loved like a brother, Talmadge Drawdy.

He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Robert A. Ackerman and Dewitt Watson Ackerman.

Funeral services were 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 9, 2014, in The Christian Fortress. The Rev. Geraldine Bednego and the Rev. Steve Wilson officiated.

Burial, directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home, followed in Oak Ridge Memorial Cemetery.
