Graveside services for George Millard Coughran will be held on Tuesday,March 18 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park.Visitation will be Monday, 6 to 8 p.m. at Hillcrest Mortuary.
George was blessed with a long life.He was greeted in heaven by his wife,Hiessie,three daughters,two sons,one daughter in law,two son in laws,one grandson,one great granddaughter and one great great granddaughter.He is survived by six daughters,Vernice McLean of Utah,Maxine Gonzales of Texas,Flo Crabtree,Inez Hackstedt,Betty Warren and Freda Swain all of Bakersfield;one son Roy Coughran of Oklahoma;five son in laws,two daughter in laws,25 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.
George was born in Hopper,Arkansas.the Coughran family moved to Bakersfield in 1947, where George went to work in the oilfields.He was a loving father,teaching his children and grandchildren the love of God.He loved music,singing and playing his harmonica to the delight of those fortunate to be in his presence.he lived to see the sixth generation born on his 100th. birthday.
His family will greatly miss his kindness and wilt and someday will join him in heaven.The family extends a thank you to everyone for their loving thoughts and prayers.
