Dr. Marc Geoffrey Englis, 76, of Idaho Falls, passed away quietly at home Saturday, November 8, 2014, surrounded by his family. After suffering from many health problems, he was able to join his sweet wife in heaven.

Marc was born January 31, 1938, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Leo Englis and Ina Woffinden Englis. He had one sister, Sally, and two brothers, Roger and Richard. He grew up in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School as valedictorian in 1956. He attended college at Brigham Young University, where he received his bachelor's degree and then attended the University of California San Francisco, where he received his medical degree.

Marc was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission in the Northwest States from 1957-59. On September 11, 1962, he married Sandra Burch in the Logan, Utah, LDS Temple, and they were married for 52 years. They had seven children, Elisa, Pam, Kathryn, Christin, Anne, Sarah and John. Marc and Sandra made their home in Idaho Falls for the past 35 years. Sandra passed away September 20, 2014.

Marc served in the United States Army from 1963-77. He had a tour of duty in Vietnam in 1968-69 where he served as a physician. He earned the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He was a practicing physician as an ear, nose and throat specialist for 35 years. While in the Army, he practiced in many different states, but set up his final practice in Idaho Falls 35 years ago. He was greatly loved and respected by his colleagues and patients and took great care of all of his patients – and was always willing to help those in need. Marc was an Eagle Scout and had a great love for the outdoors. He loved camping, boating, water skiing and hunting. He was always happy and loved to laugh. He was a very gentle and humble man. The most important thing to Marc was his family, and he enjoyed spending time with them. He loved traveling with his family and gathering for holidays. He will be missed greatly by his children, grandchildren, friends and family.

Marc is preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Marie Burch Englis, his parents, Leo and Ina Englis, and his grandson, Mekhi. He is survived by his daughters, Elisa (Dan) Barkow of Idaho Falls, Pam (Darrin) McDowell of Provo, Utah, Kathryn (Jason) Swatsenbarg of Idaho Falls, Christin (Rick) Stepp of Springville, Utah, Anne (Mel) Milton of Orem, Utah, and Sarah (Angela Auger) Englis of Denver, Colorado; son, John (Alan Flores) Englis of Idaho Falls; grandchildren, Greg (Cassandra), Ashley, Daniel, Lindsey, Jackson, Kendra, Trevor, Trent, April, Samantha, Brynlee, Gunner, Meika, Eric; great-grandchildren, Elliana and Madilyn; brothers, Roger (Ruby) Englis and Richard (Judy) Englis; and sister, Sally (Dan) Giullian.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 15, 2014, at the Idaho Falls LDS Parkview Ward, 2051 S. Emerson Avenue, with Bishop Dale Petersen officiating.
