William F. Wharton, 78, died of a heart attack at his home 736 South Chestnut street, Barnesville, at 11 a.m. Thursday. He was a retired dairy equipment dealer. Born near Summerfield, March 17, 1883, he was a son of the Rev. Frank A. and Lucinda Wharton. He married Grace Shipman Nov. 20, 1912, who survives. Mr. Wharton was a member of Barnesville Methodist Church and Belmont Grange. Also surviving are four sons, William Paul of Cumberland, Md., John S. and Willis both of Hillsboro and Francis Wharton of Newark; 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. J.H. Smith of 1433 Central Avenue, here, Mrs. D.J. Campbell of Wintersville and Mrs. John Downard of Cambridge. Friends may call at Campbell Funeral Home in Barnesville after 7 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Fred Shiltz will conduct services in the funeral home at 2 p.m. (EST) Sunday. Burial will be in Crestview Cemetery.
