Funeral services for Mrs. Nutt were held on Saturday, January 22, at the Waters Funeral Chapel. Sammy Lorton and Keith Gordon officiated. Burial was at the Vandalia Cemetery. Pallbearers were Steve Nutt, Leslie Nutt, Brandon Nutt, David Nutt, and Raymond Kirtlink. Honorary pallbearers were Brian Coates, Bobby See, Gabe Jennings and Mark Black.
Mrs. Nutt was born on March 29, 1930 in rural Ralls County to William Cleo and Zella Cecil (Benn) Ledford.
She married John I. Nutt on March 28, 1947, in Vandalia. He survives. Other survivors include three sons, Billy Nutt, Charles Nutt, and Ronnie Nutt all of Vandalia; one daughter Ruth Ann Nutt of New London; two sisters, Mary Fern See and JoAnn Henderson, both of Vandalia; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Nutt had been a homemaker on the family farm north of Vandalia all of her married life. She was a lifelong Vandalia area resident. She went to the Brice School north of Vandalia, Missouri. Her and her sister Mary had to walk to school. One day it rained really hard and the creeks got up, and they couldn't get across. Cleve Kirtlink [Revis & Geneva's Dad] rode a horse over and picked them up, and took them across the creek, as he knew Cleo and Cecil were working, and couldn't be there to get them.
She was a member of the Hays Creek Christian Church for nearly 40 years.
