William Eugene "Dean" Franks, 72, of Cherokee, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014. Visitation will be 2-3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, 2014, at Cherokee Pentecostal Church. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m., with Brother Fay Crowe and Brother Corey Cochran officiating. Interment will be in Margerum Cemetery.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Lillie and Gus Franks; son, William Dale Franks; and two brothers.
He is survived by loving wife of 48 years, Barbara Franks; son, Tracy Franks (Charlotte); daughters, Melissa Stowe (Jeff), Teresa Carmack (Gary Thompson) and Pamela Holt; six sisters; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
