Son of the late Thomas Holley and Celia Dunlow Farless, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Farless, and by a sister, Lillie Mae Belch. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church, Spruill's Pasture and the Jamestown Hunting Clubs. He was a farmer, commercial fisherman and trapper. He also worked at Planter's Warehouse for 22 years. He was survived by his wife, Verlie Hoggard Farless; sons, Kelly Stuart Farless (Teresa Perry) and Lewis Irvin Farless (Joey Long; grandchildren, Amanda Woodard, Victoria Fairless, Lauren Farless and Reagan Farless; great-grandchildren, Mallory Woodard and Braxton Cobb; and an extended family of relatives and friends. His graveside funeral was held on November 13, 2014, with The Rev. Dr. Gene Martin officiating.
