Donald L. Bates, 84, of Aurora, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2006 at Provena Mercy Medical Center in Aurora. He was born on July 5, 1921 in LaGrange, Illinois to Carlyle and Angela (Dillon) Bates.
Donald is retired from the City of Aurora where he worked in the water and sewer department for over 45 years. Donald was also a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Dorothy Bates; nephew, William Bates; and niece, Barbara Olson; and also survived by many great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Carl Bates.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at the Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery. Interment immediately following at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.
