Donald is retired from the City of Aurora where he worked in the water and sewer department for over 45 years. Donald was also a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Dorothy Bates; nephew, William Bates; and niece, Barbara Olson; and also survived by many great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Carl Bates.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at the Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery. Interment immediately following at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will be receiving guests on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Plum Landing, 495 Lake St., Aurora, Illinois.
