Robert Allen Ellis, 65 and lifelong resident of Shawnee passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at his home surrounded by his wife and children.
He was born February 16, 1949 to Lesley Forrest and Nadine Bernice (Hale) Ellis.
He attended Shawnee Public Schools and in 1968, he met Tonya Roberts, in front of the Shawnee Hornbeck Thearter. They pledged their love to each other and vowed to marry upon him returning from fighting over seas, and that they did. On September 2, 1970, they married and enjoyed 44 years together and to that three daughters were born. Robert was drafted into the United States Army.

Robert was known for his mischievous nature and fondly known as Dennis the Menace around his old neighborhood as a child. He had the gift of gab and would talk to anyone and knew no stranger. He enjoyed camping and fishing, working on old cars and woodworking. Every day you could find him in his shop out in the back of the property tinkering with something and his faithful dogs. He was an avid gun collector and shooter and would go target shooting with his wife and grandchildren,
He worked at Lillard Pipe and Supply till the closing and then gained employment at Worthington Pump. Upon the plant closing in Shawnee he was employed by Yafee Iron and Metal in Shawnee also known as Ball Pipe and Supply where he ended his life long career of a diesel mechanic and heavy load operator. Robert made many life long friends and cherished all of them that he made while at Ball Pipe.
Robert attended Living Love Christian Center. He was also a life long supporter of St. Jude Research Hospital, an avid bible reader and spent time daily in prayer.
Left to cherish his loving memory are his wife of the home and his three daughters and their spouses; Tammy and Stacy Hasbell of Bethel; KImberly Graham and fiance Randy Nance of Bethel; Timberly and James Brooks of Shawnee; four grandsons: Tilson Young, Asa And Grayson Brooks of Shawnee; and Richard Graham III of Bethel; three granddaughters: Shelby Young of Shawnee, and Renee and Amy Hasbell of Bethel.
He was proceed in death by his parents, the grandmother that raised him, Mattie Ellis of Shawnee; half brother: Gordon Jones of Tehlequah: in laws Ike and Dora Roberts of Shawnee; and his very best buddy, son in law Richard Farrell Graham Jr., whom he missed greatly.
The family would also like to think special friends and neighbors for their support, prayers and encouragement, David and Rhonda Danner and Richard and Linda Brown.
Services will be at 10 am, Friday , November 14, 2014 at Walker Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Mark Guinn officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Services. The family will be accepting friends and family at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
