"Mildred E. Armstrong, 84, of Green passed away on April 23, 2012 ending her years of pain and suffering. Mildred was born in Akron on January 1, 1928 to the late William and Martha Glendon. She was a dispatcher with the Green Fire Department for many years, a member of the Green Fire Department Women's Auxiliary, an avid shopper and she loved to cook for her family.
Mildred was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold; brother, Raymond Glendon; and infant brother, Billy Glendon. She is survived by her loving children... six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brother... and sister...
Funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, April 27, 2012 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd., Akron, OH 44319 (SR 619) with Pastor Glenn Rogers, Jr. officiating. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Greensburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Mildred's name to Aseracare Hospice, 2820 W. Market St., Ste. 100, Akron, OH 44333 or to Green Fire Fighters Association, 4200 Massillon Rd., N. Canton, OH 44720.
