Masonic graveside rites were conducted by Masons of the Eustace Lodge. Burial was in the Old Bethel Cemetery in Van Zant County.
Copprell died Tuesday, Feb,12 in a Kaufman nursing home after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born April 10, 1914 near Eustace and was the son of Noah Marcus and Evie Lena Pennington Copprell. A resident of the Cedar Creek Lake area since 1970, He formerly lived in Dallas. He was retired and had been a law enforcement officer with the Gun Barrel City and Mabank Police departments. He was a member of the Eustace Masonic Lodge No.1199 AF&AM, attended Lakeview Assembly of God Church at Seven Points and served in the Army Air Corps from 1934 to 1937.
He is survived by his wife, Edith M. (Tuma) Copprell of Gun Barrel City, whom he married Oct 31,1954.
Other survivers include two sons, Bobby Jack Copprell and Steven Ray Copprell, both of Dallas; one daughter, Janet Crigger of Dallas; one step-daughter,Jean Laverne Childers of Dallas; one step-son, Wesley Edward Poston of Dallas; one sister, Janie Mangum of Kemp; four grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
Masons who served as pallbearers were Lee Taylor, Darrell Trammell, Tim Towson, Eddie Guinn, James Holmes and Charles Plotz
