Born in Gloversville, Mrs. Wait moved to Albany in 1929 and to Schenectady in 1938. A graduate of Gloversville High School, Mrs. Wait also graduated magna cum laude from the College of Speech and Dramatic Art at Syracuse University with a bachelor's degree. She taught high school in Pulaski before her marriage. She was also a secretary to her husband until he retired in 1963. During World War II, Mrs. Wait worked on the sugar and gasoline rationing boards. From 1975 to the early 1990s, she was a volunteer in the public relations office at Sunnyview Hospital and Rehabilitation Center. She also volunteered more than 200 hours in the fund-raising office. Mrs. Wait was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Phi Mu, the Pan Hellenic Society and the American Association of University Women.
She was the widow of Samuel C. Wait. Survivors include a son, and two grandchildren.
