Emma Hile was the daughter of John and Mary (Kennedy) Hile. She married Christian Heckman on March 15, 1880 in Hagerstown, Washington County, Maryland. Christian was the son of Christian and Fredrica Heckman.
To this union five children were born Clarence, Benjamin, John, Addie and Raymond.
The photograph of Emma (Hile) Heckman was found in the photograph album Christian Heckman gave to his fiancé Emma Hite, before they were married it is engraved -

OBITUARY :
MRS. EMMA HILE HECKMAN, widow of Christian Heckman, died at home of her daughter-in-law, Mrs. B. H. Heckman, 837 Dewey Avenue, last evening of complications after a short illness, aged 93 years.
She was born in Greencastle, daughter of John and Mary (Kennedy) Hile. She had lived in Hagerstown for the past 70 years. She was a member of Zion Reformed Church.
She is survived by one son, Raymond K., this city: also seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was the last survivor of her family.
The body was removed to the A. K. Coffman Funeral Home where services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Dr. Scott R. Wagner officiating; interment in Rose Hill Cemetery.
