Lois Anderson, age 92, of Spring Valley died Friday, October 3, 2014 at the Spring Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Lois was born January 17, 1922, the daughter of William and Ella (Ziehme) Wolske, in Weston Township, Dunn County, Wisconsin. Lois was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church, Hatchville and was a longtime member of St John’s Lutheran Church, Spring Valley. She grew up and attended grade school in the Hatchville area, attended Spring Valley schools for a short time and graduated from Elmwood High School in 1940.

On August 24, 1942 Lois married Stanley Anderson at the St John’s Parsonage in Spring Valley. Stan and Lois owned and operated Anderson’s Grocery in Spring Valley for a number of years and also operated a restaurant for a short time. Lois also worked at the Spring Valley Post Office and Geiger’s Grocery Store.

Lois was an active member of the Spring Valley Legion Auxiliary. She was a member for 59 years and served as treasurer for over 40 years. She loved to bowl and was active in St John’s Ladies Aid. Stan and Lois enjoyed spending time in Birchwood, Wisconsin and also volunteered time at Crex Meadows in Grantsburg where they spent hours bird watching. Lois enjoyed tending to her flowers and especially loved spending time with her family and friends who enjoyed her wonderful cooking and company.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Stanley in 1995; granddaughters Shelley Pax and Rebecca Anderson; brother Ervin Wolske; sons-in-law Jim Skar and Dick Deraitus; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Jeanne and Larry Stack; Spencer and Patsy Anderson; and Hazel Wolske; nephew Bradley Anderson; and other relatives.

She is survived by her sons and daughters: S. James (Bonnie) Anderson, Green Valley, Arizona; Sharleen Finder, Wilson, Wisconsin; Gary (Louanne) Anderson, Alma, Wisconsin; Beverly Skar, Edgewater, Wisconsin; Denise Anderson, Rice Lake, Wisconsin; Gregory (Diane) Anderson, Geneva, Illinois; and Barbara (Peter) Esanbock, Spring Valley; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and another on the way; many other relatives and friends

Visitation was on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. at St John’s Lutheran Church, Spring Valley. Funeral service was Wednesday, October 8 at 11:00 a.m. at St John’s, Spring Valley. Burial was in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Spring Valley.

Honorary bearers were Lois’ grandchildren: Jason & Jared Anderson, Julie Fleming, Tammy Danielson, Mark Anderson, Jamie Skar, Richie Deraitus, Stacie Small, Alex Anderson, Ashley, Isaac, Emma and Ella Esanbock.

Pallbearers were Richard Pax; Dean Stack; Ron Wolske; Rick Garfield; Randy Ellefson; Dean Aamodt; Roger Wolske; and David Stack.
