The funeral of Mrs Griffin, widow of Mr. J Griffin of Combehayes, Honiton, took place on Thursday at St Michael's Churchyard. The Rector, the Rev. the Hon. F.L. Courtenay, officiated. The mourners were Miss Jacqueline Griffin (daughter), Mrs. Manning, Mrs. Hartnell and Mrs. Seward (sisters), Mr. G. Hartnell (nephew), Miss Williams, Mrs. Rosewell, Mrs. Hartnell and Mrs. Sparks (nieces) and Mr. Williams (brother-in-law). Messrs. A.T. Hartnell, J. Hartnell, G. Seward and W. Ellix (nephews) were the bearers. Others present included Mr. J. Parsons (representing Messrs. Dawkins and Son, Axminster), Mr. Wiltshire (Exeter), Mr. G. Bassett, Mr. S. Shute and Mrs. Banbury. The coffin, which was of unpolished oak, bore the inscription: "Minnie Alice Griffin, died July 8th, aged 52".
