Helen Marie Moorehead age 89 Joplin, Mo. passed away Friday October 10, 2014 following an illness. She was born September 21, 1925 in Joplin, Mo. to Galen and Bertha Morris Mayo. Helen worked for several manufacturing companies, including Reddings Mill Salad and the George Hempen Company. She enjoyed quilting and had made quilts for several of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was of the Pentecostal faith. She is survived by 2 sons; Earl “Corky” Moorehead and wife Dianna, Billy Moorehead, 3 daughters; Sally Loyd, Norma English and husband Tony, Elaine Harding and husband Tom, 3 sisters-in-law Lyda Carrico, Loretta Mayo, Violet Carrico, 20 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter; Patricia Shelby, 4 brothers; Jim Mayo, Bill Mayo, Tom Carrico, Frank Carrico, 4 sisters; Virginia Speery, Evelyn Couch, Marie Whited,and Jewel Hill.
