Frieda Horst was born in Odessa, South Russia. She attended school there before coming to South Dakota in 1910. She made her home with an uncle, and married Adam Dufloth January 01, 1913, at Java, South Dakota. They lived on a farm near Java until 1922 when they moved into Aberdeen. Her husband was emplyed by Great Northern Railroad and later with the Milwaukee railroad until he retired in 1958. He passed away June 03, 1964. She continued to live in Aberdeen, was a member of Zion Lutheran Church Women and the Senior Citizens. She was a charter member of the Tabitha Club.
She is survvied by five son survive, Arthur of New Orleans, LA, Raymond Clifford of Minneapolis, Walter of Elk River, Minnesota, and Donald of Montecello, Minnesota; four daughters, Helen (Arthur) Berreth and Ida Carlyle of Aberdeen, Elsie (Floyd) Olason of Stratford, and Viola (Robert) Geyer of San Bernardino, California; one brother, Adolph Horst of Medicine Hat, Alberta; a sister, Catherine Horst in Germany: 19 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Her husband, one son, two brothers and three sisters preceded her in deat.
