Dennis Lee Selvey Besse, 37, a native of Lamar, Mo., and resident of Morgan City, died Monday, March 29, 2004, at his residence in Morgan City.
He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morgan City.
He loved many things in life, especially model cars and trucks. He loved children and was passionate about the DARE program and was active in it, proudly driving his DARE Bronco in parades.
He was a beloved son and will be missed by all his nieces, nephews and friends.
He was the biological son of the late Leland Selvey and the son of Mary Weber Besse and Emory Besse of Morgan City. He also is survived by two sisters, Kathy LaBouve and her husband, Lonnie, of Berwick and Judith Bergeron and her husband, Ted, of Morgan City; and three brothers, Steven Besse and his wife, Annette, of New Iberia, Christopher Besse and his wife, Kristen, of Labadieville and Timothy Besse and his wife, Kimberly, of Morgan City.
He was preceded in death by his father; maternal grandparents, George and Stella Weber; and paternal grandparents, Roy and Essie Selvey.
Pallbearers will be Leland Besse, Steven Besse, Travis LaBouve, Ricky LaBouve, Christopher Besse, Timothy Besse and Teddy Bergeron II.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held this morning at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morgan City with Father Josh Rodrigue officiating. Interment followed in the Morgan City Cemetery.
