Mary was born December 31, 1951 in Columbia, South Carolina, the daughter of Thomas Jefferson Bissett and Hazel Appleby Bissett. She received her Masters Degree in Architecture from Clemson University in 1976. She worked in Washington, DC and New York City for 15 years, living in Columbia, SC for several years and moving to Charleston in 1999. She loved living in downtown Charleston with her soulmate Jefferson, a West Highland Terrier.
She is survived by her two sisters, Marion O. Bissett of Salem, AL and Becky B. Wyffels (Tom) of Marshall, MN, numerous cousins, friends and her many dog friends.
