Lena Rogers Lee
Lee, Mrs. Lena, 71, 531 West 5th Ave., Attalla, died yesterday at a local
hospital after an extended illness. Survivors: son, Curtis G. Lee Jr., Atalla;
daughters, Mrs. Ann Erwin and Mrs. Evelyn Pugh, both of Gadsden; brothers,
Lonnie Rogers, Buckatunna, Miss and Jesse Rogers, Mobile; sisters, Mrs. Daisy
Dyess, Waynesboro, Miss. and Mrs. Helen Hathaway, Fairhope; grandchildren,
Larry and Glenn Lee, Atalla and Jane Pugh, Gadsden; and several nieces and
nephews. Funeral services will be at Reed Memorial Baptist Church tomorrow 2pm
with Rev. Jimmy Bailey officiating. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery. Active
pallbearers, Edward Burks, Ben Cowart, Bill Whisenant, J. M. Privett, Billy
Glenn, and S. W. Kelly Jr. Honorary pallbearers Walter Drake, L. E. Hitt, Rex
Norton, Ralph O'Neal, Dave Erwin, Dr. William Simpson, Dr. L. D. Vinson, staff
and nurses of third and fifth floors, Baptist Memorial Hospital, and all
personal friends. Mrs. Lee was a native of Mississippi and a resident of
Etowah County for 41 years. She was a member of the Baptist Church. The body
will remain at Collier-Butler Parlors and lie in state at the church for 1
hour prior to the service.
