Survivors include her son, James M. McHaney Jr. and his wife, Sammy of Belleville; a brother, Charles Taylor and his wife, Dorothy of Toledo, Ohio; three grandchildren, Janet L. Rabon, James T. McHaney and Jamie L. Windler, also surviving are several great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Joe David McHaney; brothers, Thomas Vernell and Eldo Taylor.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in West Frankfort, the Delta Theta Tau Sorority and the Round Table. Marilea was a retired school teacher having worked for the West Frankfort School District.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 13, 2014 in the Parker - Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort with Rev. Mike Cash officiating. Burial will be in the Rosehill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
