Delbert Martin Eisenbraun, 86, Sturgis, was called home to the Lord on Wednesday, November 12th, 2014 at the VA Hospice at Ft. Meade.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 18th, at 10:00am at The First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wall, SD. Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis at 2:00pm.
He was born on June 19, 1928 to Herbert and Emma (Willuweit) Eisenbraun at Creighton, SD. As an infant he was brought to the Lord in Holy Baptism at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, and later was confirmed in his faith, in Jesus, in German, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Creighton, SD. He attended the South Creighton School, and the Squaw Creek School for his elementary education. Delbert worked for several farmers in the Wall/Creighton area over the years. He joined the U. S. Army in 1951 and served his country overseas in Japan, until he was honorably discharged in 1953 as a Sergeant. Delbert married Darlene Renner on September 10th, 1956. They lived in Wyoming for a time, and after moving to Wall, they adopted two daughters, Shawn and Michelle. While living in Wall, Delbert worked for Wall Conoco, Wall Livestock Auction, and Wall Drug Auto Livery Stable. For many years he drove truck for Midwest Coast based out of Sioux Falls, SD. Later when he returned to live in Wall, he was a driver for the Wall School bus and the Pennington County Transit for Senior Citizens, which he really enjoyed. On July 20th, 1996, he married Karen K. Glass, in Wall, SD.
He will be greatly missed by his daughters, Shawn (Ray) Holt, Peoria, AZ and Michelle Red Earth of the Flandreau, SD area; two grandchildren, Lea, and Ezra; three great-grandchildren, Lyric, Midon, and Phoenix; his sisters, Annetta Geigle, Wall, SD, Esther (Guy, Sr.) Carsten, Rapid City, SD and Wanda (Steve) Goodrich, Rapid City; three brothers, Ivan Eisenbraun, Philip, SD, Paul (Kathy) Eisenbraun, Columbus, IN, and Andrew (Linda) Eisenbraun, Rapid City, SD; and also by Karen's children, John (Kim) Lass, Sioux Falls, SD, and Cindy (Robert) Dennis, Red Owl, SD and by a host of other relatives and friends.
Those preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Karen in October 2013; sister, Betty Helms; a grandson, Matthew; and brothers, Lester Eisenbraun and Herbert Eisenbraun, Jr.; and three brothers-in-law.
