Terrell Russell Witt, 15, of Taylorsville, formerly of Pleasure Ridge Park, died Saturday at Kosair Children's Hospital.
He was a sophomore at Spencer County High School. He was a member of the Spencer County High School Academic Team, a special volunteer with the Spencer County Middle School and a Who's Who of American High School Students for 2002-2003. He had participated in several summer camps for academically talented school students.
He was preceded in death by his great-paternal grandparents, Herman and Mildred Witt and Ernest and Bertha Riordan; and his maternal grandparents, Russell Williams and Joe Cottner.
He is survived by his loving parents, his paternal grandparent, maternal grandparents, paternal grandmother and stepgrandfather, great-maternal grandparents, and numerous loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Arch L. Heady & Son, Dixie Hwy., with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens-West. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. to the time of the service Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Terrell Witt Academic Team Memorial Fund, c/o Spencer County High School, P.O. Box 849, Taylorsville, KY 40071.
