Medina was born March 30, 1919, in Ferndale.
He owned a 7-Eleven store. He was also a truck driver for 45 years for Disalvo Trucking of San Jose.
He moved to Paradise from San Jose in 1976.
Medina enjoyed ocean fishing near Eureka.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Laura of Paradise; three sons, Gerald Guidry of Denver, Colo., Maddox Guidry of Sparks, Nev., and Walter J. "Scooter" Medina Jr. of Chico; a daughter, Janet Medina Leppanen of Paradise; a brother, Jack of Woodland; two sisters, Ruby Simmons of Orland and Mary Cockrell of South Lake Tahoe; and six grandchildren.
Inurnment and committal services will be held at 1 P.M. Friday at Oak Hill Cemetery in San Jose.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rose Chapel mortuary.
