IRON STATION ~ Vanda Hawkins Hager, 70, was a daughter of the late Fred Lee and Georgia Payne Hawkins of Stanley. She was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Lee Hawkins, Jr., of Columbia, TN. She is survived by her husband Wayne Hager and two children Tony Hager of Stanley and Kelly Ann H. Robinson of Fairview, North Carolina. Five grandchildren, Noah Hager and Caleb Hager, Kelsey, Theo, and Zayne Robinson.
Vanda was a graduate of Stanley High School and Kings Business College, an employee of J.P. Stephens of Stanley, and served many years as secretary for the First Methodist Church, Belmont, where she also taught a sign language class for the preschool classes. She was a faithful Christian and lifetime member of Alexis Baptist Church, serving in many capacities, using her many talents and sweet spirit for her Lord, church, family, and others.
Interment in Alexis Baptist Church Cemetery.
Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly is serving the family.
