Mr. LaBelle was born in Menominee, Mich., and moved to Gainesville 47 years ago from Waukegan, Ill. He was a painting contractor and served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He enjoyed fishing, wood crafting and the Green Bay Packers.
Survivors include his wife, Bruna LaBelle of Gainesville; two daughters, Nancy Gordon of Atlantic Beach and Lucia Everette of Newberry; one son, Joseph LaBelle of St. Mary's, Ga.; two sisters, Mabel Sipple of Columbus, Ga., and Annie Priefer of Venice; and four grandchildren.
