Randolph Boyd Denson, age 93, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014. He was born in Nash County on November 30, 1920 to the late Elder Robert B. & Wilma W. Denson. He was predeceased by daughters, Nancy Faye Denson and Patricia Denson Daniel and grandson, Evan Randolph Daniel. Randy enlisted in the United States Navy and served aboard submarines from January, 1942 to October, 1945. Upon his discharge he returned home to Rocky Mount and was the owner and operator of Hillcrest Annex Service Station. He married Theo Jarman in 1952 and they made their home in Rocky Mount. His passions included travelling with his family and restoring old cars. His numerous jobs included twenty-eight years with the U.S. Postal Service, bank courier and owner and operator of Nomad Overnight Trailer Park. He is survived by his devoted wife of sixty-two years, Theo Jarman Denson; his daughters, Kim D. Jones and her husband, Bill; Toni Denson; son-in-law, Douglas G. Daniel, Jr. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Beth Jones, Douglas G. Daniel, III and Paige Daniel. Other survivors include one sister, Joyce D. Shelley of Jacksonville, Florida and one brother, James K. Denson of Virginia Beach, VA. Randolph is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 3:00 pm at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Reverend Joe Price officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 2:00pm to 3:00pm. Burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements entrusted to Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home, 1130 N.
