Deborah Sebor, youngest daughter of Jacob and Jane [née Woodbury] Sebor, was born in the bounds of Middletown Connecticut in November 1774. Per Christ Church records, she was baptized on November 6th 1774; along with her older brother, James Farquhar Sebor.
On May 21st 1794, Deborah married Daniel Bissell, a young military officer; who had serves as a fifer during the revolution. This union was blessed with the following known children:
Cornelia Richmond {m. Douglass}(1801-1853)
Eliza Sebor {m. Morrison}(1801-1845)
Mary Green {m. Price}(1801-1845)
James (1806-1806)
James Russell (1808-1887)
By 1802, The Bissell family had moved to Missouri; where Daniel Bissell would be appointed Commander of Fort Bellefontaine & Military Governor of Upper Lousiana by President Jefferson in 1808. In 1815, the family started the construction of their home, located eats of the village of Florissant north of Saint Louis. The farm would grow to over 2300 arces and be known as Franklinville Farm.
After General Bissell died in 1833, Deborah Bissell would continue to run the farm and entertain the society of Saint Louis at her home. She departed this life on November 15th 1843 in the 69th year of her age. She was buried in the family cemetery at Franklinville Farm.
