listed as Dominick Krapp in the St. Louis Death Index-
listed as Dominique RABB when he married in 1854
listed as Dominick Rapp when he joined the Union forces in St. Louis in 1861---the family name is actually RAPP--- as we all know every good German had 4 or more first names-- most of the kids death cert list some form of Dom but daughter Louise dc says John-- I have long suspect that John was one of Dom's other names as I find no immigration records for Dom nor naturalization--his wife's 1900 c info says she was naturalized in 1854 which was the year she married Dominic
Dominic Rapp was born 1828 Baden Germany per the 1860 census--I did NOT find him in the 1850 census— Dominic Rapp married Viviana aka Bibiana Meier June 6,1854 St. Louis, Mo--
In 1861, Dominic was listed as a private Company K, 1st Regiment US Reserve Corps Missouri Infantry ( St. Louis)--- Dominic died Nov 12 1863—probably a causality of the Civil War as Bibiana collected a widow's pension until she married John Rumpf abt 1867 and the kids collected a minor's pension until age 16—Dominic was buried in St. Vincent's ( de Paul) Cemetery--
My understanding is that St. Vincent's Catholic Cemetery in St. Louis was used from
abt 1845-1865 . I was told that there were abt 800 burials in this time frame and that at some point ( when the interstate was first constructed ) the people buried in St. Vincent's Catholic Cemetery were moved to Calvary Catholic cemetery--supposedly in the part of Calvary called Potter's Field
children of Dominic Rapp and Bibiana Meier were:
Anna M Ludwig
John Rapp
Mary Rapp Brennell
Katherine Rapp
Louise Rapp Kiel Heimburger
Elizabeth Rapp Heppe
daughter Elizabeth was born after her father died

St Vincent's Cemetery--it was in use from 1845-1865- the Cemetery was 3 miles from St Vincent de Paul's Church -location was at Jefferson Ave at Park Ave--They say that when I-44 was upgraded ( late 1940-1955), the graves from St Vincent were moved to Potter's Field--which the bio for the Cemetery says in Calvary cemetery--as I understand there are NO markers for these graves in Calvary cemetery..
I found an map of old Cemeteries in St. Louis--https://stlouis.genealogyvillage.com/oldcemeteries.htm
It shows St Vincent Cemetery at the intersection of Park, Jefferson, Ohio and Eads Ave where St Vincent Ave intersects Ohio Ave -- basically 0.3 mile north of the 1-44 exchange-- currently -the piece of land between the businesses of Zentrilia ( apartments), ManoNight Computer and Family Dollar is as close as I can get to the location of St Vincent Cemetery---St Vincent Ave is abt 300 ft off of Jefferson and Park.....
