Spencer: Peter "Pete" Anthony Thornton, 63, Spencer died Monday, November 17, 2014 at home. He was born on July 16, 1951 in Amityville, NY the son of Gerard and Ann (Hughes) Thornton. He is survived by his loving wife, Susan; son, Thomas (Rebecca) Thornton, Athens, PA; son, Patrick Thornton, Spencer; son, Sean Thornton, Spencer; daughter, Ashley Thornton and friend Tim Perry, Trumansburg; 4 grandchildren; Matthew, Anna, Brayden, Camdyn; brother, Gerard (Debra) Thornton, Van Etten; sister, Ann (Joseph) Duncan, Carlisle, KY. He worked for Patal Company in Sayre for 20 years, State Line for 2 years and McAnns in Van Etten for 23 years. Pete received Associates of Science degree in May 2012 at Corning Community College and became a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. He was a past member of St. Pius X Church Council. He was a fan of NY Giants and NY Yankees. Pete loved Drag Racing at Sky View Drags. He had his own auto repair business. Friends may call at Allen-Manzer Funeral Home in Spencer on Friday, November 21, 2014 from 6 to 9 PM. Funeral service will be on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Allen-Manzer Funeral Home. Interment will be at Canfield Memorial Cemetery in Van Etten, NY.
