Benjamin P. Dreiss married Grace Melligan in Campbell County in 1919. Their only child, Harry B. Dreiss, was born in 1921. Grace died of tuberculosis in 1922, and young Harry was raised in his uncle's family. Benjamin moved to Cincinnati and found work at the Children's Hospital. He worked there for the rest of his life and never remarried. He died of a heart attack while on duty at the hospital, and was buried with his son.
