Great-grandfather Primus Eslaker was born in Szentgotthard, Austria-Hungary on 3 June 1867. He migrated to Salgo-Taryan, Hungary and married Ethel Ringmüller there about 1890. Their first son, Edward was born at Salgo-Taryan on 12 October 1892.

The family moved to Dortmund, Germany by 1895 where second son Joseph was born on 19 Mar 1895. Primus had an opportunity to work in the Ohio coal mines, and subsequently sailed to America in 1902, entering the United States at Ellis Island, NY.

He went to work in a coal mine at Modoc, Athens County, Ohio and prepared a home for his family's arrival in 1903. By 1906, Primus was living at Millfield, Athens Co., OH and working in the mine there. Unfortunately, Ethel contracted typhoid fever and died on 29 July 1906.

With two small boys to care for, Primus sent to Hungary for a young widow and her daughter. He and Antonie Vellsal were married in Athens County on 25 December 1906. The family moved to Canaanville, Athens Co., OH prior to the 1910 census. Antonie died of heart problems on 19 January 1921.

Primus then sent to Hungary for Antonie's younger sister, Anna, to come be his wife. Primus and Anna were marred in Cuyahoga County, Ohio on 22 July 1922. However, Anna died in Athens, Ohio on 20 March 1926.

Primus went to Parkersburg, West Virginia where he set up a shoe repair shop. He met and married Mary Morris Griffin, a widow, on 20 April 1927 in Wirt County, WV. The couple lived in Parkersburg until Primus' death on 1 February 1941. He is reported to have been buried in the "Bethel Cemetery", but we have not yet been able to find his grave site.
