Joseph and his first wife Lillie were enumerated in the 1910 U.S. census for Sandusky, Erie County, Ohio, with two children: 4-yr-old Antonette and 2-yr-old William. The last name was spelled CARRAVO.

Joseph's parents were also enumerated with them. Their names on the census were Teulio and Antonia Carravo.

Lillie CARROW died 2 Sep 1912 in Sandusky from complications due to a miscarriage. Her parents were named on her death certificate as Peter Denoe, born Italy; Mary Trantanala, born Italy.

After Lillie's death, Joseph married Rosa Lombardo. They had four sons, Salvatore, Rosario, Frank and Antonio. Salvatore and Rosario were born in Ohio; Frank and Antonio were born in Nebraska. They were living in Omaha, Nebraska, at the time of the 1930 census.

Rose died in Jul 1981.
