Edwin Henry Brown, 79, resident of 311 Jackson Street, husband of Marion Wilson Brown died Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Greenwood, January 29, 1935, he was a son of the late George W. and Eleanor Carroll Brown. Mr. Brown was a Veteran having served the US Marine Corps throughout the Korean War. He retired from Greenwood Mills Chalmers Plant after many years of service as a Spinning Room Superintendant. An avid golfer, Mr. Brown formerly worked for Cedar Springs Golf Course.
His love for golf always led him to bring his family in on the fun, especially to find lost balls.

He was a member of South Greenwood Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Mr. Brown was preceded in death by a brother, George W. "Tug" Brown, Jr.

Surviving in addition to his wife of fifty-nine years of the home are two sons, Michael E. Brown and Anthony S. Brown and wife Sarah, all of Greenwood; a daughter, Janice Brown Cooper and husband Chuck of Spartanburg; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Frances Brabham and husband Jim and Mary Helen Goldman and husband Dalton Jones; and a brother, Carroll "C." Brown and wife Birdie all of Greenwood; and several nieces and nephews.
