Silas Benton "Ben" Lutes Sr., age 74 of Marceline, died Monday, November 17, 2014 at Life Care Center of Brookfield. Ben was born at Henry, Illinois on April 20, 1940 to Forrest E. and Floye F. (Rollons) Lutes. He married Joanne Hildebrand on January 12, 1957 at Princeton, IL and she survives him. Ben had worked in construction out of Local #101 in Kansas City, MO where he was and operating engineer, and was a member of the Sons of VFW at Wellton, AZ. He is survived by his mother Floye Resor, Princeton, IL; wife Joanne of the home in Marceline; four sons, Silas Benton Lutes Jr. and Beth, Bucklin; Gary Lutes and Debbie, Lawson; Pat Lutes and Carol, Brookfield; and Terry Lutes, state of Missouri; one daughter Lori Lauhoff, Blue Springs; half brothers and sisters, John Lutes, Shelbina; Donnie Lutes, Peru, IL; Dorothy Joann, Streator, IL; Leona of Denver, CO; and Liz Oakaburg, Putman, IL; seven grandchildren as well as great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, three sisters, and two brothers. No funeral services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Delaney Funeral Home, Marceline.
