Elias "Bud" Dennis, 87, of Montgomery City, died on Monday, November 27, 1989, at Columbia, MO. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 29, 1989, at the Schlanker Funeral Home. The Reverend Ed Rhodes officiated and interment was in Laurel Hills Memorials Gardens, St. Louis County, Missouri.
Mr. Dennis was born on September 12, 1902, in Carlyle, Il. He was a son of the late Harman S. and Dorothy Schuckman Dennis. He was married to Hazel Leu who preceded him in death in 1975. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Benjamin (Shirley) Thaue, of Lincoln, NE; and by two sons, Harmon W. Dennis of Little Rock, AR, and Arthur L. Dennis of Aldie, VA. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers, including Irene Loyet, Dorothy Carril and Charles J. Dennis, and a brother and sister in infancy.
Mr. Dennis spent most of his life in the St. Louis area. He was a retired delivery truck driver. He moved to the Montgomery City area in 1979. Mr. Dennis was a member of the United Methodist-Presbyterian Church of Montgomery City.
