William Ackerman
William Henry Ackerman, 96, formerly of 1434 Genesee St., died yesterday in Broadacres Hospital.
He was born in Syracuse and attended school there. IN 1914, he married Alice Ferguson. He was employed for many years by the Syracuse Dry Goods Co., retiring about 30 years ago. Mr. Ackerman had resided in Utica for the last 12 years with his daughter, Mrs. Marie Marracher. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Besides his daughter, he leaves two sons, W. Carlton Ackerman, Saranac Lake and Francis A. Ackerman, Jordan.
The funeral will be at 2:30 Monday from the Elwood T. Day Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl Cooper, assistant pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Wright Settlement Cemetery, Rome. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 tomorrow.
