Lula Roby Simmons, 83, of Shepherdsville, died Thursday at Humana Hospital – Audubon. Survivors: three daughters, Rose Burnette of Lebanon Junction, Betty Oden of Irvington and Agnes Johnson of Shepherdsville; two sons, June Simmons of Shepherdsville and George Simmons Jr. of Lebanon Junction; two sisters, Pearl Downs of Bardstown and Blanche Roby of Mount Washington; 29 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Funeral: 2 p.m. Sunday, Hardy-Close Funeral Home, Shepherdsville. Burial: Cedar Grove Cemetery near Shepherdsville. Visitation: 5-9 p.m. Friday and 9:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday.

She is survived by three daughters, Rose Burnette of Lebanon Junction, Betty Oden of Irvington and Agnes Johnson of Shepherdsville; two sons, June Simmons of Shepherdsville and George Simmons Jr. of Lebanon Junction; two sisters, Pearl Downs of Bardstown and Blanche Roby of Mount Washington; 29 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild. Funeral services were held on Sunday, Aug. 11, at Hardy-Close Funeral Home in Shepherdsville with burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery. The Rev. Rusty Watson officiated. Pallbearers were Lloyd Simmons, Charlie Simmons, Danny Bruce, Dennis Walls, Robbie Richard and Timmy Oden.
