James Bishop Presque Isle 79. Died unexpectedly 1-9-1999 at a Presque Isle hospital. Beloved husband and father, he will be sadly missed by his wife of 52 years and his family. He was born in Presque Isle 1-3-1990 the son of Archie and Alma (Gardiner) Bishop. He graduated from PIHS, then served in the Army Air Force during WWII, with the 864th Air Engineering Squadron and spent 3 years in the European Theater of Operations. He was co-founder of the auto dealership Archie Bishop and Sons in 1940 where he worked until his retirement. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion and past member of the Presque Isle Country Club. He is survived by his wife, Marcella (Cyr) Bishop of Presque Isle, 2 sons, Frederick and his wife, Janet of Auburn and Peter and his wife, Cindy of Gorham, a grandson, Ryan of UMO, 2 granddaughters, Karyn of Bowdoin College and Jennifer of Gorham, 3 step grandsons, Carl of Vermont, Daren and Chad of Auburn, 2 brothers, Harvey of Veazie and Richard of Plant City, FLA. and Portage, a sister, Patricia Armstrong of Sebago, a brother in law, William Cyr of Van Buren. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, John. Burial St. Marys North Main St. cemetery.
