Emanuel was born in Alajärvi, Finland on June 27, 1865 and came to the USA in 1888. He lived in Ironwood, MI for 13 years and moved to Van Buskirk, MI in 1901, but lived in Los Angeles for the last 9 years.
He is survived by his wife, Annie, 10 daughters, Mrs John Kangas Jr., Mrs Sigfried Holst, Mrs Elmer Mattson and Mrs. Oscar Pohjala, all of Ironwood; Mrs Larry Kaemmerer, Mrs Gus Russell, Mrs William Puspanen, and Mrs Herman Hyhonen of Los Angeles; Mrs Victor Sironen, Finlayson, Minn; Miss Jennie Rokola, Chicago; two sons Jacob and John of Hurley, 21 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Services were held at the Charbonneau funeral home, Hurley and burial to take place at the Hurley Cemetery.
