Centerville, Pa., The funeral of John B. Morris was held Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the family residence, and interment was made in Harrison Cemetery, at Vrooman. Mr. Morris died Friday evening after an illness of about two months, aged 71 years. The widow, Mrs. Seraph Morris and one daughter Mrs. Zelma Boles Survive. (The Erie Times, Feb 11, 1926)
Funeral services in memory of John B. Morris were conducted from, the family home near Buell in Rome township, Rev. Fred Smith of Centerville, pastor of the United Brethren church officiating, the minister speaking words of comfort to the bereaved family. The interment was made in the church cemetery at Vrooman, the pall-bearers being neighbors and friends. Frank Henton, Roy Mitchell, Charles Farrell and William Morgan. Mr. Morris is survived by his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Zelma Boles, who has been faithful and untiring in her devotion throughout the long illness of her father. Mr. Morris was a good neighbor and friend and will be greatly missed in the neighborhood where he resided so long. (Titusville Herald, Feb 12, 1926)

Centreville, Feb 10 - The demise of John B Morris, one of the best known citizens of Rome township, while death was not unexpected, came nevertheless as a shock to his numerous friends. Mr. Morris had passed his 'three score and ten years,' death being the result of 'Brights disease.' The funeral was held Monday at 2 pm at the family residence, with interment at Vrooman cemetery. Mr. Morrison (sic) was a good citizen, a kind neighbor and friend, husband and father and has gone to his reward and rests in peace. 'Where the wicked cease from troubling and the weary are at rest.'"
