STANSEL Our beautiful mom, Julia Mae Stansel, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family, on July 5, 2014. Julia was born in Hawthorne, Florida on December 29, 1920. She lived life to the fullest and cherished spending time with her family. Julia enjoyed gardening and being actively involved with the Council on Aging for over thirty years, volunteering for 15 years. She also enjoyed playing skittles, bingo, and having lunch with her friends at COA. She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Stansel; her son, Lester Conrad; her parents, William H. and Nellie L. Futch; and three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her daughters, Betty and Dorothy Stansel; sons, Arthur Conrad (Sue), Billy Conrad (Barbara), Jimmy Stansel (Bonnie), Harold Stansel (Mary Jo), Donald Stansel, David Stansel and Susan Ponder Stansel; 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 7 great, great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marie Futch; and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be visitation Wednesday, July 9, 2014, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Craig Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11a.m., Thursday, July 10, at Craig Funeral Home. The burial will follow at Craig Memorial Park. A special thank you to Community Hospice of North East Florida for providing wonderful, compassionate care for our mother. Thank you also to COA for providing many wonderful programs and activities for seniors to participate in.
