Delores Ruth Brown , 79, died Tuesday, May 20, 2008, in Kansas City, Missouri.
Delores was born May 9, 1929, to Royal and Louella Shade. Delores and her husband of 34 years, Dr. Charles W. Brown , lived in Taylorville, Illinois where Dr. Brown practiced veterinary medicine at Northside Veterinary Clinic. Delores served as an official of the Central Illinois Veterinary Medical Association. They retired to Yuma, Arizona in 1999 and recently relocated to Kansas City. Delores loved to dance, and she loved to shop, whether for antiques, clothes, or special items for her home. She was a beautiful woman, inside and outside, and will be greatly missed by her family.
She is survived by her husband; sister, Darlene Towsley of Tulsa, Oklahoma; children: Rebecca (Tim) Sullivan of Ellijay, Georgia, Darcy (Rick) McGrath of Kansas City, Missouri, and Kurt Kaplon of Austin, Texas; stepchildren, Doug Brown , Greg Brown , both of rural Canton, Illinois, and Brian Brown of Taylorville, Illinois. Also surviving her are grandchildren: Lindsay Herron and Taa Kaplon, and several nieces and nephews. Delores was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Roy Darrell Shade, her sister, Lou Dean Banko, her son, Stephen Kaplon, and her stepson, Jeff Brown .
Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 23, at Visitation Church, Kansas City, Missouri.
