Woodrow Wilson Airington, 78, of 245 Yates Hill Road, Rockingham, N.C., died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014 at Rockingham Manor.
He was born June 15, 1936, in Anson County, son of Walter B. Airington and Lessie M. Horne Airington.
Mr. Airington was a member of Jefferson Park Free Will Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Grooms Airington; daughters, Mary "Cathy" Guinn of Rockingham, Janice Lynn Hatcher of Winston-Salem and Debbie Lence of Hamlet; brother, Walter Airington Jr. of Pageland, S.C.; sister, Doris McLean Gathings of Hamlet; grandchildren, Jamie Cottingham of Rockingham, Carrie Lee of Ellerbe, Shannon Rorie of Rockingham and Jason Clayton of Harrisburg; special nephew, Chris Mitchum of Rockingham; stepdaughters, Tracie Harris, Diane Radford and Wendy Moore, all of Rockingham; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Jefferson Park Free Will Baptist Church.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Jefferson Park Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Roger Webster and the Rev. Frank McQuage officiating. Burial will follow at Peachland Cemetery in Peachland.
Harrington Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Airington family.
