He married Virginia Bowen in 1937, and worked as a miner, a farmer, and was a 50 year member of the Operating Engineers Local #3.
He moved his family to Fresno in 1952, and was pleased to have worked on many major projects such as Tioga Pass Road, Interstate 5, Wishon Dam, etc.
He enjoyed watching baseball at all levels and became an avid fisherman after his retirement from Granite Construction.
His wife of 62 years, and daughter, Suzanne Conley, precede Lewis in death.
He is survived by daughter, Rosealice Dunn; and son and daughter-in-law, Lewis and Barbara Dunn of Fresno.
He was proud of his six grandsons and six grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held at Belmont Memorial Park on Thursday, April 13, 2006, at 11:00 a.m.
