The Body of Darrell Conner Returned Here for Burial

The body of Lt. Darrell Owen Conner, son of Mrs. Ora Conner of 314 1/2 South Kimball, will be returned to Casper Thursday from overseas.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m, from the chapel of the Horstman Gay mortuary with military rites being accorded at the cemetery by a team from the V. F. W. The Rev. Jack Reeves will officiate at the funeral services.

Lt. Conner was killed in actioin in Germany on March 2, 1945, less than a month after he was sent overseas, according to word received from the war department.

Lt. Conner was born in Lebanon, Mo., July 6, 1921, and came to Casper with his parents when he was four years old. He attendedCasper schools and was graduated from NCHS in 1939. While in high school he was active in dramatics and was an officer in the ROTC unit.

After graduating from high school he attended school in Chillicothe, Mo., later coming back to Casper to work for the Table SUpply until he entered the army in June 1942.

He was married to the former Doris Maxine Grady.

Besides his mother, Lt. Conners is survived by a sister, Mrs. Willis Dill of Elko, Nev., two aunts, Mrs. John Blue and Mrs. George Klockseim of Casper, and his grandfather, D. S. Logsden of Casper.
