Alfred S. Naibert Jr., age 86, of 2230 S. 42nd Street, Manitowoc, died on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Alfred was born on October 10, 1927 in Manitowoc, son of the late Alfred Sr. and Martha (Folletz) Naibert. He attended school in Manitowoc. Alfred enlisted in the U.S. Army during WWII and served in Germany. On July 21, 1951 he married the former Ione Glisch at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on October 23, 1989. He was employed with Wisconsin Fuel and Light as a locator, retiring in October of 1989. Alfred loved traveling, especially to casinos, enjoyed four wheeling, NASCAR, the Packers, fishing, golfing, mushroom picking, playing cards and watching baseball and old westerns.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law: Hally and Tony Meunier, Whitelaw; two sons: Nathan "Fuzzy" Naibert, Crivitz, Derek and Heidi Naibert, Manitowoc; nine grandchildren: Joey Kvitek, Nicole Kvitek, Dustin Meunier and fiancé Ashley Wiegand, Derek (Jamie) Meunier, Deah, Justin and Leah Naibert, Amanda (Aaron) Spurlin, Alyssa Naibert; one great granddaughter: Hailey. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by his wife: Ione; one grandson: Nathan Naibert, Jr.; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Lorny and Elaine Naibert, Elmer and Dolores Naibert; one sister: Rose Armstrong; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Agnes and Oliver Parent; and his very special friend Daisy Gorychka.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday November 25, 2013 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Rev. John Becker with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc, where Military Rites will be accorded by the AMVETS Post #99.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The visitation will continue on Monday, November 25, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
