Abdon Julio "Joe" Vargas, 80, entered into rest on Wednesday, November 26, 2014.
Joe was born on July 30, 1934 in Hidalgo, Texas to the late Baltazar and Maria Vargas. With pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years.
After his military retirement, he was an electronics teacher at the Houston County Career and Technology Center for 17 years. Joe called Robins Air Force Base Chapel his church home. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, wonderful father, loving grandfather, and good friend to many. Joe touched all of their lives in different ways.
His son, Jacques Arthur Vargas; and parents, preceded him in death.
Joe's memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 56 years, Bernice Vargas of Warner Robins; son, Jeffrey A. Vargas (Kathy Sherrill) of Warner Robins; daughter, Suzanne Vargas Beers (Henry) of Macon; ten grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at McCullough Funeral Home on Saturday, November 29, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with inurnment following in Magnolia Park Mausoleum.
