Mrs. Agnes M. Neuser, age 86, formerly of the Felician Village Manitowoc, died Thursday morning, August 26, 1993, at St. Mary’s Home, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 28, 1993, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Presiding at the Mass of Christian Burial will be her son, the Rev. John Neuser,. Concelebrating the mass will be the Rev. Jerry Prusakowski O.F.M., the Rev. Tom Wojciechowski, O.F.M, the Rev. Ron Belitz, the Rev. John Bergstadt, the Rev. William Kuhr, the Rev. David Pleier, the Rev. Dennis Ryan, and Msgr. John Schuh. The homilist will be the Rev. David Pleier. The St. Mary Parish Funeral Choir of Brillion will sing for the Mass.
The former Agnes Benzschawel was born February 2, 1907, in Grimms, WIs., daughter of the late Matthew and Rose Anhalt Benzschawel. She was married to Adolph J. Neuser on June 18, 1929, at St. Mary’s Church, Clarks Mills, Wis. He preceded her in death on April 8, 1961. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and the St. Boniface Rosary and Altar Society.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Marian and Jerome Keehan of Manitowoc, Rosanne and Thomas Pagels of New Berlin, Wis., Suzanne and Thomas Kuffel, Sturgeon Bay, Wis.; seven sons and five daughters-in-law, the Rev. John Neuser ,of Mishicot, Paul and Margaret Neuser, of Manitowoc, Laurence and Eileen Neuser, of Manitowoc, Dr. Kenneth and Carol Neuser of Green Bay, James and Judith Neuser, of Manitowoc, Richard Neuser, of Manitowoc, Randolph and Sandra Neuser, of Watertown, Wis.; a brother and sister-in-law, Bernard and Lenore Benzschawel, of Sheboygan; three sisters-in-law, Matilda Benschawel and Viola Kattner, both of Manitowoc, Dorothy Benzschawel, Reedsville; one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Reinhold and Leona Neuser, of Manitowoc, Eunice Neuser, Des Moines, Iowa; thirty-two grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter and three brothers, Matthew, Raymond and Joseph.
Friends may call at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 4-9 p.m. Friday and at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. The family will pray the rosary at 7 p.m. Friday.
Memorials to St. Mary’s Home or St. Boniface Parish would be appreciated by the family. Agnes loved to write poetry, and she wrote a poem to be read at her funeral mass. Her concluding lines read:
Know that I shall intercede
For you, my dear ones,
In whatever need
Until that joyful day.
When we all shall be
United in His love eternally.
